And we’re back into Assassin’s Creed!
I decided to try Black Flag Resynced to see if it still gave me the dizziness and headaches that I had with the original game, and it doesn’t!
So, a’piratin’ we go!
I did end up watching a Let’s Play of the orginal a few years ago (though I can’t remember if I actually finished it), so it’s interesting seeing how they’ve changed the game for the remaster. Biggest one is that the “working for Abstergo” framework (which incidentally is where I experienced the worst of the dizziness with the original game) is completely gone. I won’t talk about what replaced it, partly to avoid spoilers, and partly because I’m still trying to figure out what exactly it is.
Minor peeve: I love that they added the modern “pet the animal” mechanic, but the camera always moves behind Edward when you do, so you can’t really see the critters you’re petting or feeding until the last couple of seconds!
Had some trouble early on with an issue on Linux where Ubisoft connect hangs half way through launching the game and then it just never starts (which was especially frustrating because the first day I installed it the game played just fine, but then the second day I couldn’t get it to launch at all). If anyone else is dealing with this, the solution I found was this. I went ahead and did both what the OP suggested, and the commenter below. Not sure which was the solution, but the game’s working now.
