It started raining overnight, and rained most of the day. The house didn’t have any sort of attic space. The ceiling and the roof were one and the same, so the pitter patter of rain was very present. It reminded me of the rain hitting the corrugated fibreglass roof outside my bedroom window when I was a kid.
Breakfast that day was a full cooked breakfast consisting of apple pancakes, scrambled eggs, bacon and tots, along with some maple syrup.
Due to the rain we decided this day would be dedicated to shopping. There had been things each of us had seen on Church Street the first day that we wanted to go back to.

The first place I wanted to stop was Danforth Pewter. They had some cute charms I’d liked the look of, so I wanted to take a second look. This is the little guy I ended up with.

Next we stopped at an art collective where I picked up two stickers and a print by Jess Polanshek.

We ran into a Zoltar machine at the bottom of the stairs leading to an oddities shop. I don’t think I’ve ever seen one outside of a Tom Hanks film. And out on the street there was a penny press, which, now that pennies have been discontinued, just has a stock of pennies in the machine, rather than you providing your own. I wonder if they’ll eventually just start using “copper” blanks instead.

For those unaware, Champ or Champy is Lake Champlain’s cousin to Nessie.
Further up the street I got a box of Turkish Delight from a little Turkish shop. The other three had never tasted it before. They decided that they might sell out their family members for it, if they’d been on rationing for several years and depending on the family member.

We took a break at Vivid Coffee Roasters, and had lunch at Gaku Ramen, where our waiter had the voice of Andre the Giant. Seriously, deepest speaking voice I have ever encountered in person.
Dinner was maple glazed salmon, roasted acorn squash and asparagus and the movie of the night was Backrooms, which is my least favourite of the movies we watched.
