After another breakfast of bagels, T, C and I headed out for a nature walk. J decided to stay home again. T was under the impression that the thing she’d been most excited about doing during the trip was picking apples, and since we did that on the first day, she was perfectly happy to just spend some time lounging and resting.
I got some fun pictures during our walk, so photo dump below the cut.

- A lot of the trees in that area had gone yellow, so I was thrilled to find a red one I could mix in.
- I don’t know what kind of tree this was, but check out the colour of its trunk!
- Some cool lichen with mushroom friends
- This lichen was so bright
- Entrance to faerie
- Peep them leafs!
We checked in with J after our walk, but she was still happy to chill back at the house, so the rest of us headed out to a corn maze. We grabbed some apple cider donuts and apple cider (sadly not hot) for a snack before heading in.
This really wasn’t what I’d expected. For one thing, the corn stalks were still bright green. For another, this wasn’t really a “get lost in the maze” kind of maze. They had it set up with a couple of games, one about bees dancing on the short path, and a Clue type game on the long one. And the “maze” pattern was a design commemorating the 250th anniversary of the US. At any rate, it was a lot of fun and we discovered that Boots the dog had been hidden away by Kletus the monster in the Outhouse, and we were able to save him with Fork Catapult. I grabbed some extra cider and donuts to share with J and we headed back to the house.
In the evening, we went out to a speakeasy called Venetian Soda Lounge.

I can’t remember what my first drink was called, but it was bourbon or whiskey based, with an apple flavour and smoke. Really interesting. I liked it. T ordered something pear-based that was even nicer. I also ordered one of their house sodas, a Maple Cream Soda. Really yummy.
For dinner we headed to Farmhouse Tap & Grill. We hadn’t intended to go back to Church St, but apparently all roads in Burlington lead to Church St lol.
